A four week design program and experimentation meant to explore complex composition in both two and three dimensional space. Stage one of this analysis consisted of two and three dimensional visual compositions consisting of drawing techniques meant to visualize architectural action words. Stage two of the process required the three dimensional composition from stage one to be folded down the center of “the space between” and then mounted at a 90 degree angle, utilizing the new found three dimensional volume space as the blank canvas for model construction to take form. The Space Between final compositions represent the sums of a systematic dissectional analysis of individual images and their respective components, which are utilized to create new compositional mediums.
2D composition
The first variant in the Space Between was a two dimensional exploration in action words through a visual combination of line work and poche techniques.

This image represents a right side boundary, which the compositional space between was partially derived from.
3D Composition
The second variant in the Space Between was a three dimensional exploration in action words through a visual combination of image dissection, line work, and poche techniques.

model compositions
model Composition - v1.0
The first model variant in the Space Between is a three dimensional exploration in the same action words used in the visual compositions as well as an initial exploration in material uses.
model Composition - v2.0
The second model variant is an exploration of the possible implied spaces that could be produced within the volume between the two perpendicular sides of the Stage one compositional graphics. This model variant was used to develop an initial architectural language theme of transformation for the composition.
model Composition - v3.0
The final model variant was not only an exploration in the implied spaces discovered in the second variant, but a further refinement of those spaces through hierarchy of scale and the application of depth in the overall model volume field. In addition, the chosen theme of transformation would take on further refinement through precision of scale and simplification of concept.
